Arléne Amarante

Arléne Amarante Arléne Amarante is an Assistant Professor of Law at Lincoln Memorial University’s Duncan School of Law in Knoxville, Tennessee, where she teaches Immigration Law, Asylum Practice Skills, and Legal Writing. Before joining the LMU Law faculty in 2019, she was an adjunct instructor at University of Tennessee College of Law and at University of Nevada, Las Vegas, where she taught Asylum and Refugee Law and Sociology and the Law, respectively. She earned her law degree from Nova Southeastern University’s School of Law; her undergraduate degree in English from the University of Nevada, Las Vegas; and her Masters in Social Justice and Community Action from the University of Edinburgh.

Arléne is also one of the founders of Adelante, a Knoxville-based, nonprofit law firm specializing in deportation defense.
