Tara Baldrick-Morrone studies the interplay between the ancient Mediterranean world and twentieth-century American politics. In particular, her work focuses on how interpretations of ancient Christian ideas about contraception and abortion influence and shape how we think and talk about these issues in the present. Her other area of study focuses on introducing undergraduate students to the academic study of religion in courses on film and world religions. Her aim is to teach religion courses in a way that helps students to develop invaluable critical-thinking skills that are applicable in the classroom and beyond.
