B.A. in Religious Studies
The major in Religious Studies is designed to engage students with the historical and critical academic study of religion as a crucial component of the study of world history, global cultures, and contemporary politics. Our undergraduate program equips students with the analytical tools to understand the complex relations among religion, culture, and society in past and present contexts.
B.A. in Religious and Nonprofit Leadership
Religion is an important part of the nonprofit world: in addition to nonprofits with religious missions, many other nonprofit organizations work with religiously diverse groups of people or other forms of religious diversity.
B.A. in Religion, Race, and Ethnicity
The Religion, Race, and Ethnicity concentration consists of 33 hours. It focuses on the intersections of religion, race, and ethnicity in North America.
B.A. in Religious studies Honors
The honors concentration consists of 33 hours. Students must have an overall GPA of 3.25 to be accepted to the honors concentration. To graduate with honors the student must maintain an overall GPA of at least 3.25 and pass 407 and 408 with at least a 3.3 in each class. Students interested in the honors concentration should consult the department’s honors coordinator.
Minors in Religious Studies
The minor consists of 15 hours in the department of Religious Studies. No more than 3 hours may be taken at the 200 level. Students are encouraged to discuss their program with a faculty member in the department.
